Orientation 3: A University Experience for Students in the Third-to-Last Year of High School
Orientation 3 is a program designed for high-school students in their third-to-last year of High School.
This one-week learning experience allows participants to:
- Explore Luiss degree programs in economics, law, and social sciences through lectures, case studies, and guest talks.
- Start their admission pathway to Luiss by taking a final test that awards bonus points for the early-admission test of Orientation 4.
The course offers introductory modules for each of the three-year and single-cycle degree programs available at Luiss, allowing students to explore various fields of study and make a more informed decision when choosing their academic path.
Starting from the 2026 edition, two of the available weeks will be offered in a bilingual format: a unique opportunity for students interested in English-taught programs at Luiss. During these weeks, part of the orientation activities and introductory lectures will be held in English, giving participants the chance to immerse themselves in the language and gain firsthand exposure to an international academic environment. This format is ideal for those who wish to engage in a more global experience, regardless of their level of English proficiency.
Week Structure
Each day is organized to provide a comprehensive learning experience:
- Monday to Thursday: introductory modules on Luiss degree programs, with an intensive schedule from approximately 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
- Friday: the morning is dedicated to the final test.
Final Test and Start of the Admission Pathway at Luiss
On Friday, students take a psycho-aptitude test. The score allows them to earn bonus points (up to 6) valid for the early-admission test of Orientation 4 in the following year.
Only students who, at the time of attending Orientation 3, have completed the third-to-last year of high school and attended the entire week of the program, with no more than one justified absence may take the test.
The test is held online on Friday morning at the end of the attended week and lasts 60 minutes. It includes 40 multiple-choice questions in the areas of psycho-aptitude, problem-solving, and mathematics.
- Correct answer: +1 point
- Incorrect answer: –0.25 points
- Blank or multiple answers: 0 points
Based on the total score, students can earn bonus points for the early admission test during Orientation 4 in 2027:
- Score between 70.00 and 79.99 → bonus of +3 points
- Score between 80.00 and 100 → bonus of +6 points
The test may be taken only once in 2026. Results will be communicated via email in the second half of September.

The training weeks offer different modes of participation, designed to meet the needs of every student.
You may choose to add optional service packages that include accommodation, dinners, and transfers to and from the housing facilities.

Information on Stay and Supervision
Throughout all activities taking place on Luiss premises and included in the official program—as well as during overnight stays in the designated residences—participants will be assisted and supervised by staff appointed by the University.
Outside official program hours—including, by way of example but not limited to, the lunch break between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m., independent travel, and any movement away from campus not expressly organized and supervised by the University—responsibility lies entirely and exclusively with the participant if they are at least 18 years old, or with the parents/legal guardians in the case of minors.
Students who choose the accommodation service must return to their assigned residence no later than 10:00 p.m. After this time, the parents of students who have not yet returned will be contacted by telephone using the numbers provided at registration (parent contact and emergency number) and will also receive an email notification. Adult students will be contacted directly and, if indicated, through their emergency contact.
All entries to and exits from the residence will be recorded with a signature and timestamp.
The University is exempt from any liability and cannot be held responsible, in any form, for events, damages, or incidents occurring outside the periods of effective supervision by authorized staff or outside the areas and activities officially included in the program. This exemption also applies to travel carried out by private means, by third parties, or in any case not organized by the University.

FAQ
There is no entrance test required to participate in our Summer Schools.
The Summer Schools are designed for high school students and are suitable for participants with varying levels of competence and knowledge. The lessons are structured to provide a comprehensive introduction to the topics covered and a general orientation to university life.
No, an advanced level of English is not necessary. However, a basic understanding is recommended in order to easily follow the lessons and activities held in English.
Yes. Students with Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD) or disabilities can request reasonable adjustments – such as extra time or support with reading the test – by submitting appropriate documentation to summerschool@luiss.it at least one week before the start of the programme. Documentation for SpLD must be dated no earlier than 2022.
