Discover the world of programming with the Coding Summer School!

The Coding Summer School 2025 is a summer coding program tailored for high school students in their first to penultimate year, aiming to introduce them to the foundational principles of programming. Throughout the course, students will engage in a unique and interactive learning experience, acquiring and practicing the fundamentals of coding.

What you will learn during the Coding Summer School:

• Introduction to programming: data, data types and logical constructs essential in any programming language.
• Javascript and Kaboom.js: an in-depth look at the syntax and main functions of Javascript and the Kaboom.js library.
• Development of a video game: using the technologies learnt to create a customised video game
• Group work: practical and collaborative experience developing software with other participants.

Week scheme

Lesson times for the programming course are from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

• Mornings and afternoons: theoretical lessons, in-depth workshops, and project development in groups.
• Evening (residential formula): leisure and entertainment activities are available to students residing in Luiss residences or affiliated facilities

Conclusive test and start of the Luiss admission path

On Friday, a psycho-attitudinal test is organised, allowing students to earn bonus points that will count towards the earlier admission test, which will take place during Orientation 4 the following year. This test is identical to the one for Orientation 3 participants, offering a tangible opportunity to commence their academic careers.

Additionally, the Coding Summer School grants recognition of 40 hours for the PCTO (formerly known as Alternanza Scuola-Lavoro) upon the subscription of a dedicated convention with the student’s school.
